The guide in Aeros TV, with made-up programmes.

On Apple TV, the UK’s live channels are spread across different apps, with no one guide to them all. Aeros TV puts every channel in one place, seven days ahead, and one press takes you to what’s on.

In the apps you have, or from your aerial

Most people start with the apps they already use. Add an HDHomeRun and the channels from your aerial play right in Aeros TV as well.

Straight into the channel, in its own app

Choose a channel and Aeros TV takes you to it in its app. Tell it which of these you use, and the guide lists the channels they can open.

  • BBC iPlayer
  • ITVX
  • Channel 4
  • My5
  • NOW
  • Sky Go
  • discovery+
  • STV Player
  • France 24
  • Bloomberg
  • NHK World
  • CNN

You’ll need each app installed with you signed in, and some, like NOW and Sky Go, need their own subscription. On a Mac, which has none of these apps, a channel opens on its broadcaster’s own website instead, where it has one.

From your aerial, right in Aeros TV

An HDHomeRun is a small tuner that shares the channels from your aerial over your home network, so any Apple TV in the house can watch them without an aerial socket or set-top box in the room, and so can your iPhone, iPad and Mac. Aeros TV plays them itself, with pause and rewind.

What’s in Aeros TV

  • The guide

Seven days of listings for every channel, with pictures and descriptions. Jump to tonight, tomorrow or any day this week, filter by genre, and hold Select on a programme to find out more.

  • Home

What’s on right now, in pictures, with the big programmes first and then rows for your favourite channels, entertainment, news, sport, kids and films.

  • On every Apple device

The same guide on your iPhone, iPad, Mac and Apple Vision Pro, made for each of them, and one purchase covers them all. With an HDHomeRun, the channels from your aerial play on them too, anywhere in the house, with Picture in Picture on iPhone and iPad.

  • Search

Find any programme, film or channel in the week ahead. Type it, use dictation, or type on your iPhone.

  • Playlist

Add a show and its new episodes join by themselves as they’re listed. What’s on now and what you missed come first, then your TV shows, films, sport and kids, one tile for each. Episodes stay after they’ve been on, so you can watch them in BBC iPlayer, ITVX, Channel 4 or My5 while they’re on catch-up, and a reminder tells you as one starts.

  • Favourites

Heart the channels you watch most and they get a guide of their own, as well as the first row on Home.

  • Pause live TVWith an HDHomeRun

Pause and rewind up to 30 minutes, skip 10 seconds, and press up or down to change channel. If a channel’s signal starts breaking up, Aeros TV offers to open it in its app instead, and the sound stays in step on HomePod and AirPlay speakers.

  • Watch from the start

If you’ve tuned in late, start the programme that’s on now from the beginning, in BBC iPlayer.

  • Kids

Everything on the children’s channels right now, as big pictures, with rows for little ones and older kids.

  • Your region

Choose your TV region and the guide shows your own BBC One and BBC Two.

  • On the Home screen

What’s on now and your Playlist sit in the Top Shelf, above the apps on your Apple TV’s Home screen.

Eight themes, and a guide set up your way

Choose the look that suits your room, from Blossom and Ember to a starry night sky in Seren. You can hide the channels you never watch, put the rest in your own order and choose which screen Aeros TV opens on.

With an HDHomeRun, adult channels stay hidden unless you choose to show them.

Your data stays yours

Aeros TV never sends us anything about you. Our privacy notice has the detail.

  • What you watch never leaves your device

Nothing about what you watch is sent to us or anyone else. There’s no account to create, and Aeros TV has no adverts or tracking of any kind.

  • Your favourites and Playlist follow you

They’re kept on your devices and in sync through your own iCloud account, along with your hidden channels, settings and TV region, so every Apple TV, iPhone, iPad and Mac shows the same. You can turn that off in Settings. Your theme, HDHomeRun and apps stay with each device.

  • Everyone downloads the same guide

The TV guide, its pictures and the catch-up list come from our server, and nothing in the download says who you are or what you watch.

Questions about Aeros TV

The answers come from the app’s own Help. The help page has the rest, and what to do when a channel won’t open.

Do I need an HDHomeRun?

No. Without one, every channel opens in its own app. With one, the channels from your TV aerial play right in Aeros TV, with pause and rewind. Set one up in Settings, under HDHomeRun.

Which apps does it open?

BBC iPlayer, ITVX, Channel 4, My5, NOW, Sky Go, discovery+, STV Player, France 24, Bloomberg, NHK World and CNN. Tell Aeros TV which ones you use in Settings, under Channels, and the guide lists the channels they can open.

Each app needs to be installed with you signed in, and some, like NOW and Sky Go, need their own subscription.

Is Aeros TV on iPhone, iPad and Mac?

Yes. Aeros TV is on Apple TV, iPhone, iPad, Mac and Apple Vision Pro, and one purchase covers them all, on all your Apple devices.

On a Mac, which has none of the broadcasters’ apps, a channel opens on its broadcaster’s own website instead, where it has one.

Can I watch something that’s already been on?

If it’s on catch-up in BBC iPlayer, ITVX, Channel 4 or My5, yes: select the show under Play now in your Playlist, then Watch in BBC iPlayer (or its app). Aeros TV knows the last week’s programmes. News and live shows often aren’t kept.

Why does an app open without starting the channel?

Some apps don’t let other apps start a channel, so Aeros TV opens the app and you choose the channel there. Channel 4’s app also asks whether to watch from the start or live.

Can I use Aeros TV outside the UK?

The broadcasters’ apps only play their channels in the UK, so outside it most channels won’t play.
